The Office of Financial Management (OFM) has made another round of distributions of the state and federal funds appropriated in EHB 2965 for COVID-19 response. They are:
- $11.7 million from the general fund–federal (GFF) for the Department of Health “for costs associated with the state and local government response to the coronavirus outbreak in Washington.” This brings the total distributed to the Department of Health for this purpose to $75.0 million. (Of that, $50.0 million is from the disaster response account and $25.0 million is from the GFF.)
- $3.0 million from the disaster response account (DRA) for the Office of Civil Legal Aid, “for legal assistance for unemployment insurance claimants whose claims have been lost or denied and for tenants who face eviction upon termination of federal, state, and local eviction moratoria.”
- $360,000 from the DRA to the Department of Enterprise Services “to translate COVID-19 documents into 37 languages.”
- $260,000 from the DRA for the Health Care Authority “to pay the sales tax portion of the Washington State Hospital Association’s purchase of personal protection equipment for hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other providers of services to vulnerable populations.”
- $250,000 from the DRA for the Department of Commerce “to install infrastructure hardware for drive-in WiFi locations at schools and libraries.”
(Posts on the previous distributions are here, here, and here.)
With these distributions, the GFF appropriation has been spent. Of the $175 million appropriation from the DRA, $31.0 million remains.
