On Tuesday, the House Appropriations Committee amended and passed the Chair’s operating budget proposal. Amendments added $28.6 million in near general fund-state plus opportunity pathways (NGFS+) spending. Floor passage is expected tomorrow.
According to an updated four-year outlook, the proposal still balances over four years. The biggest change in committee is that the proposal no longer assumes savings of $22.9 million from Medicaid caseload reductions related to I-1433’s increase in the state minimum wage.
The chart below (click on it for a larger version) compares the policy changes in the Senate-passed budget to the policy changes that were passed by the Appropriations Committee. (This updates the chart in this post.)
