Early Friday morning, the Senate passed a 2017–19 operating budget. As passed, near general fund–state plus opportunity pathways (NGFS+) spending for the biennium would be $43.314 billion, an increase of $4.860 billion over the current biennium.

I wrote about the original budget proposal here and here. Amendments made in committee and on the floor added $46.1 million in NGFS+ spending. (I wrote about the committee amendments here.)

Floor amendments included $9.9 million to fund the Coalition of Unions collective bargaining agreement. (The Coalition is made up of bargaining representatives who represent fewer than 500 employees each.) Another added $2.0 million for the homeless student stability program (in the Department of Commerce).
