The Puget Sound Business Journal explains how Seattle voters may still see a minimum wage issue on the November ballot. As we wrote yesterday, some business leaders felt pressured by the possibility of a $15 charter amendment. While there cannot be a charter amendment in even-numbered year, an initiative is still possible.

San Francisco voters will see a $15 minimum wage issue on the ballot, one that goes further than the one adopted by the Seattle city council.

“I can’t tell you how happy I am. San Francisco is yet again setting the bar on workers’ rights,” said Supervisor Jane Kim, who helped broker the deal. “All San Francisco employers will be paying $15 an hour by 2018. There will be no tip credit, no health care credit. These are pure wages workers will be bringing home to their families.”

Should be an interesting election.
