Lew Moore Boeing KIRO Nov 9 2015WRC President Lew Moore spoke to Seattle's KIRO TV yesterday about the benefits of Boeing and aerospace industry tax incentives for Washington state. In response to union criticism about 777X tax incentives originally approved in 2003 and extended by the Legislature and governor in 2013, Lew stressed that they are working:

"The incentive was passed in 2003," said Moore. "And there were over 30,000 jobs created as a result of that incentive."

Boeing, he insists, has paid the state back in thousands of jobs and job security.

"The question is 'are they going to stay here, are they going to have a major investment here,'" said Moore. "That answer is clearly yes."

Here's our Policy Brief on the tax incentives from November 2013, when the future of 777X production in Washington was still in doubt (Boeing Machinists eventually voted to approve their contract in early January 2014).
