In a new policy brief, we provide a side-by-side comparison of the education funding plans that have been proposed by the governor and Legislature. This is an update of the comparison we published last month.
The update reflects changes made to the House- and Senate-passed plans, as funded in the operating budgets passed by each chamber. It uses a new fiscal analysis from the House Office of Program Research that shows the effects of the proposals on school districts and taxpayers. (The OPR analysis includes a link to an Excel worksheet that is useful in comparing the effects of the proposals on individual districts.)
Update April 7: We've updated the policy brief to reflect additional information from OFM.
